WINCOS solar control films
Solar control films are an effective way to reduce energy consumption while improving the interior environment. The films reduce the penetration of solar radiation through architectural glazing, via a combination of absorption and reflection. In summer, this helps lower interior temperatures, reducing the need for air conditioning. In winter, the energy reflection properties help prevent heat escaping through glazing.
The films can also reduce glare (for example on computer and TV screens), and balance out ‘hot spots’ near windows that are exposed to direct sunlight.
The range includes clear, metallised and coloured films, providing solutions for a wide variety of architectural applications and delivering excellent ROI in energy savings over time. Their use, either on new builds or as a retrofit, will contribute to meeting BREEAM assessment standards for sustainability.
- Abrasion resistant
- Excellent durability
- UV resistant
- Environmentally friendly
- Optically clear
- Scratch resistant
- Heatcut – excellent heat absorption and very high transmission of visible light – up to 86%.
- Reftel – reflects solar radiation whilst allowing transmission of good levels of natural light (65 – 75%). Also blocks signal interference, making it good for security-sensitive locations.
- Lumicool metallised – reflects a high percentage of solar energy – up to 59%, and absorbs it, up to 60%, depending on film choice. The range also offers varying degrees of privacy.
- Lumicool coloured – a choice of black, grey, brown, taupe, blue and amber provide plenty of design scope in addition to the films’ capacity to absorb solar energy. The amber film blocks a wider range of UV spectrum, making it suitable for buildings housing activities for which any exposure to UV can be damaging.
