Ethical Pharmaceutical, Prescription & OTC Labels
EU legislation means pharmaceutical manufacturers are having to meet more stringent standards in the labelling of prescription drugs and OTC medicines. The EU’s Falsified Medicines Directive requires that pharmaceutical product packaging and labelling carries a unique serial number to identify the products, and that the packaging seals should be tamper-evident.
Our range of label stock products can combine high printability – even of fine fonts – with tamper-evident solutions, to help pharmaceutical manufacturers comply with these labelling and identification requirements.
Features/options:
- Innovative
- Tamper-evident
- Superior optical clarity
- Superior printability
Our range of label stocks offer the following properties for OTC medicine packaging and identification:
Tamper-evident ‘VOID’ security label stock – if the label is removed this label stock’s tamper-indicating properties will instantly reveal a ‘VOID’ message.
Destructible label stock for security marking of medicines and pharmaceutical products – if anyone attempts to remove the label, the material will fracture easily, thwarting any attempt to re-apply it.
We also offer diverse solutions to help pharmaceutical manufacturers meet ethical requirements in product and equipment labelling, including:
Autoclavable – resistant to edge lifting on small diameter ampules, syringes and test tubes, compatible with gamma ray and alcohol sterilization methods. High transparency allows easy viewing of contents of container.
Extreme temperature resistant labels
- Cryogenic label stock that can be directly immersed in liquid nitrogen at -196°C without risk of delamination
- Long-term abrasion, chemical and thermal shock resistant label stock -when permanently fused to ceramic and glass surfaces, labels are heat resistant to 1250°C on ceramics and to 600°C on glassware
